At a Glance

Draws a path made of connected straight line segments (and, optionally, arcs) by clicking a series of points in the drawing.

A Polyline can combine Line and Arc segments in the same path.

Parameters

Parameter Description
Segment type (Line / Arc) Chooses whether the next segment placed is a straight line or a curved arc.
Point (coordinates) Lets you type an exact coordinate for the next point instead of clicking it in the drawing.
Apply / Close Finishes the path (Apply) or exits the tool (Close).

Overview

Draws a path made of connected straight line segments (and, optionally, arcs) by clicking a series of points in the drawing.

Using Polyline

  1. Click to place the first point of the path.
  2. Click to place each following point — a straight segment connects it to the previous point (Shift constrains the segment to a standard angle). Switching to arc mode instead curves the segment to the next clicked point.
  3. Repeat to keep adding segments.
  4. Click back on the starting point to close the path into a loop, or right-click / press Enter to end the path where it is left open.

Line and Arc Segments

Use the Segment Type control to choose whether the next segment is a straight line or an arc. The type can be changed as the polyline is being built, allowing a single path to contain both straight and curved sections.

Hold Shift while placing a line segment to constrain it to a standard angle.

Click the first point again to close the polyline, or right-click / press Enter to finish it as an open path.

Result

A path made of one or more connected straight and/or curved segments, left open where the drawing ended or closed into a loop if clicked back to its starting point.
