Overview

A rare but serious issue that can cause errors in Ibex is a problem with your computer’s display driver.
The most common symptom is blank drawings — a new drawing tab may open, but the main area of the tab will appear empty.

Ibex relies on your computer’s built-in graphics to draw and render visuals. If your display driver encounters an error, the rendering process may fail, resulting in blank drawings or unexpected display behavior.

Checking for Display Driver Errors

You can check for display driver issues using the Windows Device Manager:

  1. Open the Start Menu or Control Panel, and search for Device Manager.
  2. In Device Manager, expand Display Adapters.
  3. Look for any display adapters that have a yellow warning symbol next to them — this indicates a driver issue.
  4. To view more details, right-click the adapter and select Properties.
    • Under the Device Status section, check for any error messages.
    • For example, Intel graphics drivers may display Error Code 43 when a malfunction occurs.

Resolving the Issue

  1. Restart your computer.
    • Sometimes, a simple restart is enough to clear temporary driver errors.
  2. If the problem persists:
    • Follow the manufacturer’s troubleshooting steps for your graphics adapter.
    • This may include uninstalling and reinstalling the latest driver from the manufacturer’s website.
  3. After reinstalling:
    • Restart your computer again.
    • Reopen Ibex to confirm that drawings now render correctly.

Notes

  • If you use Intel, NVIDIA, or AMD graphics, ensure your drivers are up to date.
  • In some cases, Windows Update may automatically correct the issue.
  • If errors persist, you may need to contact your computer or GPU manufacturer for further support.
