Polycurve Tool
Create curves in the drawing
Parameters
The Polycurve Tool does not have ribbon-based configurable parameters, but its behavior changes based on mouse actions (click vs. drag).
Shortcuts
- Click + Drag: Create a curved segment with adjustable curve handles.
- Click (no drag): Create a straight segment (handles still available for later editing).
-
Right Click:
- Ends the current contour (creates an open contour), or
- Exits the Polycurve Tool after finishing a contour.
How to Use the Polycurve Tool
-
Activate the Tool
Click the Polycurve icon from the ribbon. Your cursor will change to indicate you're in drawing mode. -
Draw Curved Segments
- Click and drag to place a point and define the curve's handle.
- Release the mouse button to set the handle and establish the curve shape.
- Repeat to add additional curved segments.
-
Draw Straight Segments
- Simply click (without dragging) to create straight lines.
- These points will still have editable handles that can be adjusted later for curvature.
-
Finish the Curve
- Right-click to finish the contour as open, or
- Click the starting point to close the contour, then right-click to exit the tool.
The Polycurve Tool is ideal for drawing complex shapes that require smooth, flowing segments or precise control over curve handles.
