Guidelines Tool
Create and edit guidelines
Parameters
- Create Horizontal Guideline: Adds a new horizontal guideline to the workspace.
- Create Vertical Guideline: Adds a new vertical guideline to the workspace.
- Position (X/Y): Set the position of a selected guideline using coordinate input.
- Angle: Rotate the selected guideline by entering an angle value.
- Delete Guideline: Removes the currently selected guideline.
- Show/Hide Guidelines: Toggles visibility of all guidelines.
Shortcuts
- Click + Drag: Move a guideline to a new position.
- Select + Enter Position: Precisely place a guideline using the coordinate field.
- Angle Field: Rotate the guideline by typing in a new angle.
- Delete Option: Remove the selected guideline.
How to Use the Guidelines Tool

Activate the Tool
Click the Guidelines icon to open the tool and reveal the guideline options in the ribbon. -
Add New Guidelines
- Use the Create Horizontal or Create Vertical buttons to add a new guideline.
- The active (selected) guideline is shown in orange; all others appear in red.

Move Guidelines
- Click and drag any guideline to reposition it.
- Alternatively, type a new coordinate value into the Position field to move the selected guideline with precision.

Rotate Guidelines
- Select a guideline and enter an angle into the Angle field to rotate it.

Delete Guidelines
- Select the guideline and click the Delete Guideline button to remove it.

Toggle Visibility
- Use the Show/Hide Guidelines option to manage visual clutter in your workspace.
Guidelines are useful for aligning objects, creating consistent layouts, and visually organizing your design environment.
