At a Glance Parameters Overview Using Scale Scale Factor and Final Size Group and Copy Result

At a Glance

Resizes the selected geometry larger or smaller, growing or shrinking it from a chosen anchor point. Scaling can be proportional or set per direction, and can apply to the whole selection as one group or to each object individually.

Parameters

Parameter Description
Corner A small diagram for picking which corner scaling grows from.
Scale Factor The X/Y/Z multiplier applied to the current size.
Size The resulting X/Y/Z size after scaling.
Proportional Keeps all directions scaled by the same amount so shapes don't distort.
Copy Scales a copy of the selection, leaving the original untouched.
Group Scales all objects together as one group; when off, each object scales individually.
Scale By Corner Scales using the selected corner as the fixed origin point.
Apply / Close Apply completes the scale immediately; Close exits without scaling anything.

Overview

Resizes the selected geometry larger or smaller, growing or shrinking it from a chosen anchor point. Scaling can be proportional or set per direction, and can apply to the whole selection as one group or to each object individually. A Copy option scales a duplicate while leaving the original alone.

Using Scale

  1. Select the object(s) to scale.
  2. Choose the scale type (3 Axis, 2 Axis, or 1 Axis) to control which directions are affected.
  3. Set the anchor point scaling grows from — click a point on screen or pick a corner with the corner picker.
  4. Click a reference point on the selection, then click or drag to its new position — the resize amount is calculated from how far it moved, and applied automatically.

The exact scale factor or final size can also be typed directly instead of clicking points on screen.

Scale Factor and Final Size

You can define the resize by entering a Scale Factor or by entering the desired resulting Size. When Proportional is enabled, the same scaling relationship is maintained between directions so the selection does not distort.

For example, a Scale Factor of 2 doubles the affected dimensions, while 0.5 reduces them to half their original size.

Group and Copy

Enable Group to scale a multi-object selection as one combined unit. When Group is off, each object is scaled independently.

Enable Copy to create the scaled result as a duplicate while keeping the original geometry unchanged.

Result

The selected geometry is resized by the chosen factor, either as a group or object-by-object, replacing the original or adding a resized copy.
