Adds a linear dimension to the drawing — a dimension line with arrows and a text label showing the straight-line distance between two points you click, such as two segment endpoints.
Parameters
Dimension Styling
| Parameter | Description |

| Font Name / Font Style | The font and Regular/Bold/Italic styling used for the dimension's measurement text. |
| Height | The height of the dimension text. |
| Justify | Where the measurement text sits relative to the dimension line: above it, inline along it, or below it. |
| Dimension arrow size | The size of the arrowheads drawn on the dimension line. |
| Leader line gap / extension | The gap left between the leader line and the measured point, and how far the leader line extends beyond the dimension. |
Overview
Adds a linear dimension to the drawing — a dimension line with arrows and a text label showing the straight-line distance between two points you click, such as two segment endpoints.
Using Linear Dimension
- Click the first reference point.
- Click the second reference point. Hold Shift to force the dimension purely horizontal or vertical; without Shift it aligns directly along the line between the two points.
- Move the mouse to set how far off to the side the dimension line sits, then click again to place it.
Placing the Dimension
Pick the two reference points to measure, then move the cursor to position the dimension line away from the measured geometry and click to place it.
Hold Shift while choosing the second point to force the displayed dimension to horizontal or vertical. Without Shift, the dimension follows the line directly between the two reference points.
The shared dimension settings control font, text placement, arrow size, and leader-line spacing.
Result
A linear dimension: a straight dimension line with arrowheads at both ends and a text label showing the measured distance between the two chosen points.
