At a Glance
Create, manipulate, and position text easily using the Text creation and Text spacing tools.
Controls
- Font Name: The name of the selected font (all installed TrueType fonts are available).
- Font Style Preview: Shows a live preview of the currently selected font.
- Height: Adjusts the nominal height of the text based on the font definition.
- Width: Scales the width of the characters relative to their default.
- Skew: Slants the text left or right using a numerical angle.
- Track: Controls the spacing between characters (positive increases, negative decreases).
- Super Script: Moves characters vertically from the baseline.
- Flip: Determines which side of a curve or line the text appears on.
- Alignment: Align text to the left, center, or right.
Shortcuts
- Left Click: Set the text cursor. Start typing to create text in the selected font.
- Double Click: Select all text in a text object.
- Right Click: Go back or cancel (contextual behavior).
Overview

Open the Tool
- Click the Text icon in the ribbon. The ribbon will update to show all text-related parameters.

Set Text Options
- Choose your desired font, height, and width.
- You can also adjust skew, track, and superscript settings if needed.

Create Text
- Click in the workspace to place the cursor.
- Begin typing your text. Each click creates a new text object.

Edit and Style Text
- Double-click a text object to select it for editing.
- Type across multiple lines to keep words grouped in the same object.
- Use alignment tools to switch between left, center, and right justification.
- Apply bold or italic styling to selected text as desired.

Advanced Options
- Use the Flip parameter when working with text on curves to reverse its orientation.
