Rectangle Tool
Create rectangular contours in the drawing
Parameters

Mode:
- Corners: Create a rectangle by selecting two diagonal corners.
- Size: Create a rectangle by entering specific width and height values.
- Corner 1 / Corner 2: Manually input the coordinates for the two opposite corners of the rectangle (used in Corners mode).
- Width / Height: Define the dimensions of the rectangle (used in Size mode).
- Corner Type: Options for defining corner shape (e.g., sharp, round, etc.—not fully detailed in transcript).
Shortcuts
- Left Click (twice): Define the first and second corners of the rectangle interactively.
- Shift + Drag: Locks dimensions to create a square in Corners mode.
- Live Preview: Moving the mouse shows a preview of the rectangle before placement.
How to Use the Rectangle Tool

Activate the Tool
Click the Rectangle icon from the home ribbon. Rectangle-specific parameters will appear. -
Use Corners Mode (Default)
- Click once to set the first corner of the rectangle.
- Move the mouse to shape the rectangle.
- Click again to set the opposite corner.
- Hold Shift while moving the mouse to constrain the rectangle to a square.
- Optionally, enter exact coordinates for Corner 1 and Corner 2 in the ribbon.

Use Size Mode
- Select Size mode from the ribbon.
- Enter the width and height values.
- Move the mouse to position the rectangle.
- Click to place it in the workspace.

Choose Corner Style (if applicable)
- Use the Corner Type setting to define the style of the rectangle's corners.
The Rectangle Tool offers both interactive and precise control over shape creation, with options for freeform drawing or exact input.
