Parameters

  • Measurement Mode:
    • Point to Point: Measures the straight-line distance between two selected points.
    • Segment Length: Measures the length of a single segment within a contour.
    • Total Length: Measures the full perimeter of a selected contour.
    • Angle: Measures the angle between two selected segments.
    • Area: Measures the area enclosed by a closed contour.

Shortcuts

  • Right Click: Clears current measurements.
  • Snap to Vertices (optional setting): Helps improve accuracy by locking measurement points to key geometry.

How to Use the Measure Tool

  1. Activate the Tool
Click the Measure icon from the toolbar to enable measurement functionality.
  2. Select a Measurement Mode
    Choose from five available modes:
    • Point to Point: Click two locations to measure the distance between them.
    • Segment Length: Click a segment to display its length.
    • Total Length: Click a contour to measure its total perimeter.
    • Angle: Click two segments in a contour to measure the angle between them.
    • Area: Click a closed contour to display its enclosed area.
  3. Improve Accuracy
Enable Snap to Vertices to align measurement points to exact geometric locations.
  4. Clear Measurements
Right-click anywhere in the workspace to clear the current measurement.

The Measure Tool is an efficient way to analyze distances, angles, and areas within your drawing, making it useful for validation, design checks, and setup.
