At a Glance

Reshapes the selected geometry by dragging the handles of a box drawn around it, stretching or skewing the shape to follow the box as it's pulled out of its original rectangular form — similar to a trapezoid or perspective-style distortion.

Parameters

No on-screen entry fields — the shape is entirely controlled by dragging the box handles directly in the drawing.

Overview

Reshapes the selected geometry by dragging the handles of a box drawn around it, stretching or skewing the shape to follow the box as it's pulled out of its original rectangular form — similar to a trapezoid or perspective-style distortion. Because the box wraps the selection in three dimensions, handles are also provided along its height, so a shape's thickness can be tapered too.

Using Taper Distort

  1. Select the object(s) to taper — the taper box appears around them.
  2. Drag any corner handle to pull that corner, or a middle-of-edge handle to taper that whole side — the geometry reshapes live as you drag. Multiple handles can be selected and dragged together.
  3. Press Enter to apply the distortion, or Escape to cancel and leave the geometry unchanged.

Distorting with the Taper Box

A control box appears around the selection. Drag a corner handle to pull one corner independently, or drag a middle-of-edge handle to taper an entire side. Multiple handles can be selected and moved together.

The geometry updates live to follow the distorted box, including available handles through the height of the selection.

Press Enter to commit the current distortion or Escape to cancel it.

Result

The selected geometry is permanently reshaped to match the distorted box, replacing the original outline.
