Parameters

The Join Tool does not use toolbar-based parameters. It operates entirely through mouse interaction within the workspace.

Shortcuts

• Left Click: Start and complete the join between open contour ends.
• Right Click: Exit the Join Tool.

How to Use the Join Tool

1. Activate the Tool
   Click the Join icon to enter join mode. Your cursor will change, and orange circles will appear at the endpoints of open contours that can be joined.
2. Begin a Join
   • Hover over an open contour end. When it turns bold, it is ready to be selected.
   • Left-click to start the join from that point.
3. Complete the Join
   • Move your cursor to another open contour end. A dotted line preview will appear.
   • When the second endpoint turns bold, left-click again to complete the join.
   • A line segment is created to connect the two contours.
4. Repeat or Exit
   • Continue joining additional contours as needed.
   • Right-click to exit the tool.

The Join Tool is ideal for connecting loose geometry or preparing contours for closed operations such as toolpaths or area fills.
