BIG CHANGES At a Glance

The Move Tool lets you reposition or duplicate objects in the drawing using either a corner-based or point-to-point method. It’s fast, precise, and flexible—ideal for fine-tuning object placement.

Parameters

Corner: Move objects using a specified corner of the bounding box.

Point to Point: Move objects by specifying a source and destination point.

Placement: Defines the active movement corner used in Corner mode (e.g., center, lower left, upper right).

Copy: Enable this option to create a duplicate of the selected object at the new location.

Quick Access

Open the move tool at any time with the F2 key

Overview

The Move Tool in Ibex provides a way to precisely move and copy contours in the drawing space.

You can launch the tool in one of two ways:

  1. Select it from the Home Ribbon
  2. Press the F2 key for quick access.

Move Modes

There are two primary move modes:

Corner Mode

Accessed by selecting the Corner icon in the lower-left of the Move Tool.

As you move the cursor, a live preview shows where the selected object will go.

Movement is based on a specific corner of the object's bounding box, which can be selected from the Placement dropdown.
For example, if “Center” is selected, the object moves based on its center point.

Point to Point Mode

This mode moves the object by specifying two points: the original and target locations.

The object is relocated based on the relative distance between Point 1 and Point 2.

Copying Objects

If the Copy option is checked, the object is duplicated in the new location instead of moved. This is useful for repeating elements while preserving the original.
