Overview

Layer Flyout Buttons

Add Layer

Adds a new layer to the active drawing. By default, it will be named Layer # where # increments automatically.

To rename a layer, double-click the layer’s name field.

Remove Layer

Deletes the currently selected layer.

The active layer is indicated by a dark blue highlight in the layer list.

Remove Empty Layers

Deletes all layers that have no drawing elements.

This is useful for cleaning up after reorganizing or importing geometry.

Draw Layer Color

Toggles between showing geometry using each layer’s assigned color or the system default color.

This is helpful for distinguishing elements across multiple layers.

When disabled, elements revert to the standard display color, making it easier to identify selected objects.

Layer Settings

Layer Name

Assigns a custom caption to each layer.

This name is for labeling and organizing only; it does not affect drawing output.

Display

Toggles visibility of individual layers.

Useful for hiding reference geometry or elements not needed in the final design.

Lock

Prevents any editing or selection on the layer.

Locked layers remain visible and snappable, allowing you to reference geometry without modifying it.

Layer Color

Sets the display color for all geometry on that layer.

For example, if a rectangle is on a layer with its color set to orange and Draw Layer Color is enabled, the rectangle will appear orange in the workspace.
